I am still unsure of what my final project will be. During the last month of school I wrote a list of all the things that I want to do differently next year. I have been reviewing this list to try and determine if I can turn one of them into a project. None of them explicitly use technology but I'm certain many of them can be adapted to fit this criteria.
I really want my students to read more books this coming year. One of my favorite things to do when I was in elementary school was to have a reading day or a reading hour where we all sat with books. However, it seems that none of my students this past year had the patience or the interest in reading for even 10 minutes. I want to cultivate an environment of reading. I had some ideas such as creating book clubs, having a reading list to track how much each child has read, reading competitions, and more class read alouds. Again, none of this include technology so that is where I would need to focus. I had an idea of creating some sort of digital library to help students find their reading level and interests. Or a way to track how much each student has read and creating a final project about their book.
If you do something in your class to get students excited about reading please let me know!
